Sakis’ Tilkidis book, “The Stone Bridges of the Serres Prefecture”, was presented on the 12 of March in the Public Central Library of Serres. It is the seventh book of Library’s publications about the Serres prefecture and describes the traditional bridges of the area built from the ancient until the Middle War period. Sofia Georgiadou, the President of Library’s Board, started the presentation and a three minute video clip guided the audience through the beauties of nature and the bridges of the Prefecture. Then, Athanasios Kanlis, professor of linguistics, and George Tsotsos, engineer described the content of the book and underlined the need for further survey and listing of stone bridges in Greece. The event ended with the writer’s speech who concluded by describing the reasons that urged him to study the specific subject.
