The public library of Serres through this section presents various present day issues that have en effect on society with the aim to warrantee a more reliable information of the citizens. The issues are of social, health, educational, cultural and economic interest as well as issues of daily lite that are published in magazines, and newspapers in Greece or abroad.

THE ATHENS PRIZE FOR LITERATURE 2009

  Athens Prize for Literature short list out

The short list for The Athens Prize for Literature 2009 has been released by (de)kata literary journal. Seven Greek and eight foreign novelists are nominated for the best Greek and Foreign Novel of 2009. The winners will be announced in September 2010 at Stoa Spyromiliou, Citylink. The ceremony which was to take place in late June was postponed due to protest marches downtown Athens. Each of the two juries are consisted of five Greek fiction writers and translators. The prize and award ceremony is sponsored by Mont Blanc.
